Public holidays in Germany are largely determined by the various federal states and often reflect religious celebrations.  In fact, there is only one  national holiday established by law - the Day of German Unity.  It is celebrated on third of October every year to celebrate that reunification of Germany in 1990.  The following is a list of holidays that are generally observed in one or more states in Germany.

2019 German Holidays and Celebrations
January 1 - New Year's Day
January 6 - Epiphany /  Three Kings Day
April 19 - Good Friday
April 22 - Easter Monday

May 30 - Ascension Day
June 10 - Whit Monday / Pentecost
June 20 - Feast of Corpus Christi
May 1 - May Day / Labor Day
September to October - Oktoberfest
October 3 - German Unity Day
November 1 - All Saints' Day
December 25 - Christmas Day
December 26 - Day After Christmas

Again, the exact dates that holidays occur depends on the individual states.
