Think about the motifs of this novel. Then choose a motif (you can pick one from the box below) to develop your own thematic statement regarding the message from the author.

Pick a motif that you think the author uses in the novel.  Then, find four quotes from the book that support your answer.  Include the page in the space provided. Next, write a thematic statement that describes the message that the author is sharing via the motif.  Incorporate TAG (title, author, genre) and the motif to write an opening statement for your essay.
